My war poem

The sight of cold blood spilled everywhere

Along with hellish screams that no one could bear

I ran my way through the packs of bodies till no more

For the last body had hit the floor, with a thud and a crack

All that was left was the bones, of those who had given life for life

For the nights and days they lasted long with mud in boots

They still went on, no stop they said till the last ones gone

For they did not give up on one or the other they were brothers till the end

For friendship is what made them carry on.

The cries of widows and children fatherless, echoed through the streets

As loved ones got told, there tears one falling at a time

Like the soldiers in the war, for the lost lives of the fallen

Are like single tear drops that lay on the floor

Till they merge with the earth, for they need not protect us no more.
