Desperation By Kyle Goedeke

A heart beats to a rhythm quite familiar,

A soul stands..... In a crowd of disbelievers....

She’s swallowed, like a stream into a river

I jump in head first; i struggle to retrieve her...

Her eyes shine, like a candle to a sinner....

But Light blue like a lake struck by winter....

I feel her, but i feel my fingers shiver...

Those eyes burn, like the vodka in my liver....

I hold her close.... a love i can’t forget...

She stays near, a verse i can’t remit.....

She dwindles... a light that won’t stay lit...

Is this love real? Or just an old bad habit?

Is love there? If you can only seldom grab it?

Forget her maybe and live to carry on?

Or just cling to, that old familiar song?

A question... to live or just live on?

Can you love one, even with love gone?
