Patient Love

Poem by: kcasey17

Summary

I wrote this poem for my ex for Valentines day. It was a long distance relationship and we never met, but we always kind of hoped that we'd see each other and get back together one day.

There are many miles that separate,
two hearts that were once one,
distance just could not accommodate,
for the longing had begun.

Never seeing each other was just too much,
the thousand miles got in the way,
going so long without a single touch,
is what was keeping the two hearts at bay.

Perhaps if they just hold on and wait it out,
there could be something more again one day,
then they will no longer be going the wrong route,
and their worlds will no longer be grey.

Love can hold out for the longest time,
sometimes you just have to be patient.
