The Note I Found Folded in My Lunchbox

“Hey Mary—

Have a good day at school today!

Do you think you could pick up some milk on the way home from school…your father used the last of it…AGAIN—without replacing it.

Also, don’t forget to pick up your brother from soccer practice! I have a meeting so I won’t be home until after dinner. There are some leftovers in the fridge…make sure you cover them when you put them in the microwave!

Have a good day at school today!

Mom”

I ripped the note in half, crumpled the two individual pieces and tossed them toward the trash can.

One for Mom.

One for Dad.
