Beneath that rain we were cloaked.
It had been years since we had spoked.
Bemidst the flood we both fought.
Forever it seemed; you - I'd sought.
Bashed so they were amused.
Through life, we had not cruised.
Because in floods we still saw rain.
Nothing before had ceased the pain.
I'd thought my past was a vile stain.
Until you taught me to use a cane.
Now memories aren't my chain.
Ican walk againsta sprain.
Thanks to you, I've learned to welcome the rain.
Blinded by lies and pulled down.
I'd hoped for things to turn around.
Bound by those memories crossed.
Letting go;what would itcost.?
To them I was a wild card.
Just drifting through their front yard.
