The loud knock on my diamond shaped

window from the quiet tree branch

awoken me, telling me that a long-lost

friend has something very important

to tell me.

The long-lost friend hiding behind

the fragile rose bushes was a black cat.

The black cat didn't come here alone.

It had brought along its yellow teeth,

peeled fur and skin and wide scratches.

When the black cat saw the golden light

closing in the front door as the quiet tree

branch slams it behind me, he crawled

slowly towards me and away from the

rosebushes as they recover their dead rose

petals and walked on his two sore hind

legs and told me that tomorrow the

sun is going to shine a little bit brighter

the yesterday and that there won't be

any gray clouds.

The next morning I woke up and

looked out my diamond shaped

window and the black cat was

right and he was standing right

outside waiting for me to come out

of the darkness.
