So once again here I am standing in front of Talon. His cold ice blue eyes seem to pierce my very soul and his venemous smile makes my stomache turn. He knows that this time he has won. He knows that unlike the last time I stood before him I can not smile back and say \"go ahead and do it.....kill them I have no soul and I have no guilt\". its not a bunch of pathetic men who I payed off to follow me this time. No, this time I have a team that has become my family forced to their knees with knives to their throats. There is little Silver, who I can tell is trying to be brave. I can see him staring back at me with bright eyes....the poor kid thinks that I have a plan for everything and that I can get us all out of this. There is Mitch who is struggling to free himself from the soldiers grip. He knows its no use, but he always has been a stubborn, hard headed, fool and refuses to give up. He keeps on shooting glances up at me, and I can see it in his eyes that he is trying to get to me. Then I look at Blaze, my commander and best friend. He was the one who saved my life all those years ago and set me straight. He is looking at me also; his eyes lock onto mine, and I see desperation inside of them. He knows what I am about to do, and I can see him begin to panic. I quickly look away. I know what I have to do. I have to save my team..... I have to save my family. I take in a deep breath and then look into Talon's eyes, what has felt like hours of thinking has only been a few seconds, and he is waiting for my answer. I have it. I stiffen up then let my dagger drop to the ground, then I drop to my own knees. I can hear Blaze begin to scream \"no\", but I ignore him. I look up once again into those ice blue eyes then I say \"let them go\". Talon's eyes grew wide and his smile grew even bigger. \"of course.....but I expected so much more from the Great Shadow Assassin,\"he said. \"But I guess even the best of us grow soft isnt that right Ember.\" He drew his pistol and then carefully aimed it towards me. I closed my eyes and whispered just loud enough for Blaze to hear, \"I made a promise.\" There was a flash of light.....then everything went black.
