We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails.

The wind knows my name

He whispers to me as he brushes past my lips to softly claim

His strong gust blows my emotions away

Raising my skirt wherever he wants to play

Gently lifting my hair whipping it around my face

No other force of nature gets that privilege to invade my personal space

Unintentionally messes up my hairdo when the draft moves

My red ribbon floating in the wind, his souvenir from our just due

In the absence of his poetic affection

There he blows my way to advise me of his devotion, his dedication

I hear the wind rustling above those towering trees

Moving the leaves startling me

He’s such a faceless tease

He knows I will look up

Love always for his airy presence from the sugary rim of my seductive cup

His strong energy retains my presence in place, from going forward, I’m totally never free

But wait, ooh, he can be very demanding when he’s angry I have come to see

No one can escape his wraith when he churns in the ocean or sea

He brings that gush, and then a tidal wave overcoming the essence of me

Flooding my emotions as I try to flee

I’ve tried to run, and even hide

Until he shows me the summer breeze of his softer side

Propelling my stance from behind as I’m standing alone

He has my heart, mind, and there’s no place like home

I wonder does the wind blow beyond the stars

If it does, please tell Zephyrus who sits on the planet of Mars

My ladder cannot extend beyond the clouds to reach that far
