She could sell her love on street corners

If only she’d use her brain.

She could open her legs and open her heart

If only she’d choose the right boy.

But she’s tired and lonely and contact

Has lost all meaning.

A kiss is a kiss.

A fuck is a fuck.

Is this the way she’s meant to be?

And if so, is this right?

To drink and to dance and to fall in love

But only for the night?

Would her mother be ashamed?

Would she even care?

Would she offer advice?

She’d say what’s been said before no doubt:

These boys do not care. They are not

Looking for love. But neither is she.

She’s closing herself off I think,

Though for why I cannot say.

Does it hurt less? Does it hurt at all?

Is this a cry for attention? No.

It’s just sex.
