I stood on a field proud of myself

Holding my gun tight in my hands

Watching my enemies flooding the fields

The battle begun and lasted for days

Neither of us knew what the fight is about anymore

Yet we kept killing and killing

As possessed by the demons

Blindly screaming our enemies names

The battle was over

The deed has been done

I stood there alone

Surrounded by bodies of friends that I loved

Shedding the tears of regret

A hero they said

Hero of what I thought to myself

Has this brought food on the table for poor?

Did this gave shelter for those that are cold

And now forgotten by all I think to myself

What was my purpose?

In this tragedy called war.
