Labrador Rain

O Labrador, you were found in the rain

Kind of lost, hiding your pain

But I came to rescue you

Have not eaten in days

Want to return to normal ways

Paws, with broken glass

Scars from a life so brash

Tattered and abused

Feel so used

This is no excuse

His eyes were of sadness

But reaching

His tail swung in gladness

And transported to the pound

Didn't make a barking sound

It is scary at the facility

Without a true dog family

They even put them to sleep

And even God begins to weep

But someone came in

To help you out

Grabbed your tail

You scream and shout

"I have a new friend"

And now my heart won't bend

O Labrador in the rain

You finally lost

Your outward pain

Threw away your homeless shame

Come to my arms sweet Labrador

A dog driving in the car
