she is a mystery

smells like baby powder and cherries

resting in moonlight

not another fight

goin to be a star in Nashville

with a pocket full of condoms

going to be a star

she is a mystery

went to church but fell out

the Pastor took her to

an X-rated movie

now she worries what she is

not another fight

not another bite

going to be a star

smells like cherries and baby powder

eats clam chowder

but drinks from a straw

poor girl

poor girl

she is a mystery girl

drinks coffee in late night libraries

hangs around college

dreaming of being a writer

but she is a fighter

of abuse

too loose

and never lose

mystery girl

they took her to great heights

if you know what I mean
