The first poem I think I've ever written. I gave it to my wife today (Valentine's Day). It was meant to be a little dorky, then get more serious. I would love someone to tell me how to write a poem. I have no idea if this is any good.

To My Wonderful Wife on V-Day
Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
Always cliche,
But no less true.
Try as you might,
Can't misconstrue,
Roses are red,
And I love you.
As this marriage lengthens,
I have gotten the clue,
That despite my failings,
You keep loving me too.
You gave me a sweet girl,
That sticks to you like glue.
For that I love you more
Than I thought I could do.
Longer and longer, I'd like to extend,
These lines of verse, and the love carried through.
But all things stop, of that we can depend.
Sadly, this includes love, yours and mine too.
But, we should go on, delaying the end,
And when we are gray, we will say "time flew."
Just, whatever you do, don't ever bend,
Please love me the same, since I'll still love you.
