Now that I am a parent I will never understand how people can abandon their children.

The breeze tickled at my ear

I wondered if you were near

I heard your name the world over

Did you feel no shame?

You planted a seed

It was your job to watch it grow

You left with a smile

How was I to know?

Many years have passed,

but the anguish stays the same

Do you ever think of me or whisper my name

There is a part of you in me

I wish I knew how big it was

I will never understand or forgive you

Thanks for nothing dear Father!
