A nightmare of Dreams

He was approaching me

and I could feel his breath.

His hot, garlic breath.

I knew what was coming.

My skin crawled inside itself.

They thought that’s what I wanted.

To be awakened by

Mr Right, a handsome prince.

What the hell?

Handsome to those without eyes.

And now here I am.

Lying in this tiny hovel

waiting for this creature to do his worst.

I expected smouldering and sexy.

They told me smouldering and sexy.

They sold me creepy and unsightly.

Apparently, he fought to get here.

Fought what? His ego?

And now here he is

garlic breath and everything.

Hoping he is my one true love.

Hoping he can wake me from

my delirium .

His Sleeping Beauty.
