The Fall Of The Teenagers
Is it just my wildly balmy self or have teenagers really hit their mid-life crisis at fifteen??
And am I the only one that thinks that when opposite genders flirt and/or show-off this macho-man profile that they aren't, they look stupid?
It really frustrates me, this entirely new society of teenage people. I mean I know it's extra pocket money for the Estee Lauder and Loreal, but really? All that make-up?
The current terminology [and “accquired” lifestyle] of a teenager that would fall under the cool and in crowds make me realize that maybe I belong to some obscure foreign planet in an unexplored galaxy in some district part of space .
In fact, to the common observer, I probably look retarded. Especially in High School...I am not one those people that eat delicately and start dabbing my mouth at the fall of a crumb, it does not faze me if a male is watching me from across the Quadrangle, and neither do I give a damn if I'm wearing negative make-up. It's High School, not a runner-up game to Americas Next Top Model.
And I know that us, foreign aliens that have invaded earth, do exist...in masses.
In fact, all of my friends are original, down-to-earth, slightly crazy and geniun [most importantly], so I have no problem with this 21st century evolution.
Though I have admitted that The Cellphone Addicts, Make-Up Posessed and Ego-Maniacs...well I really like to wring their throats. But I do not despise them whatsoever.
Life is too short to worry about your hair not being in place. If there's a guy/girl out there that truly cares about you, they'd still stick at your side if you were bald. You probably will be some day.
Thing is we've grown past our age. My Grandma looks at us and says 'we look as if the weight of the world is on our shoulders'. All dramatic and pompous.
We have more than we deserve, yet we complain ceaselessly.
The people before us, were completely underpriveleged. Their clothing wasn't nearly as awesome as ours, neither was their technology. But you always saw them smiling and having a heck of a good time. And I envy that.
You look at us. One mishap, and we think life sucks. Though we never pause to appreciate what we do have: food, shelter, education, a few good friends, and parents. There are people that would give their limbs to be where we are today. And we have the gall to complain.
It is really sad, that people so willingly give up. They're so conviced and determined that their lives are over, ruined. No dreams, no fighting back.
I conclude this with an inspirational piece:
'When I was 5, my mom told me that happiness was the key to life.
When I went to school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I wrote down “happy”.
They told me I didn't understand the assignment and I told them they didn't understand life.'
