This is a poem about things that i imagine go through your mind as you get ready to graduate. However, this could be symbolic to other things also. =D

Moments ago I was a little child,
Running off to school, for another day of play,
I wore my hair in braids,
and went to the parade,

I hoped and dreamed and whispered,
Mother held me close and tight,
She sang me little songs,
until the day was night,

My dreams were so real,
and close and impossible too,
I never thought i would grow up,
But here i am with you,

I say goodbye to all my friends,
I cry and smile bright,
The day has come to grow up,
and now i am filled with fright,

To graduate and become independent,
To have no rules and tons of doubt,
I have moments left to breathe,
before the timer will be out,

I am so afraid of all the awful change,
And to forget this life,
It went so fast and here it is,
it cuts me like a knife,

Goodbye i say over and over,
like a record stuck on string,
do i mean it, do i want to?
What does this really mean?

Goodbye to all the curfew's?
And to all the retched tests,
or farwell to all the free time,
and extra time to rest?

I love you all, and don't forget,
as the days go on and on,
That true friends made here,
will never be truly gone,

Try Harder, Be Stronger, Shine brighter,
Love always and forget the pain,
moments ago you were a child,
but never never again.
