“Macey! Get up, it’s the first day of a new semester!” a motherly voice said from the hallway.

“I don’t want to go to school! You know that I don’t like change, and this is a different school than my other one! You made me move away from my best friends when I didn’t want to!” Macey shouted to her mom from her bed.

“Macey, you are getting out of that bed and going to school, you will make other friends that you can hang out with and get to know. We have been through this so many times!” Macey's’ mom shouted back to her.

“Mom, we have moved so many times I can’t even count how many times we have moved!” Macey shouted back.

Macey’s mom walked into her room and said, “Honey, we are moving for your safety.”

Macey sat up in her bed and told her mom, “Yeah that’s what I don’t get. You keep telling me we are moving for my safety, but we’re safe wherever we go.”

“Macey, we, and when I say we I mean you, aren’t safe anywhere these days.” her mom said as she went and sat on her bed.

“Okay, whatever you say. But I just want you to know that if you want to move again, I am not going with you,” Macey paused worried what her mom would say then continued,
“Because I am so sick and tired of moving over and over again. If I become unsafe, if I get in a situation where I don’t feel comfortable, or something like that, I will handle it myself, okay.”

“Are you sure you don’t want to move if you become unsafe?” Macey’s mom asked her.

“Yes, I am positive.” Macey told her mom.

“Okay, but if you ever do want to move then we will okay?” Macey’s mom said in a caring and questioning tone of voice.

“Yeah, I know, now will you please leave so I can get ready and not miss the bus?” Macey asked her mom in an irritated tone of voice.

“Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I am sorry.” Macey’s mom said as she got up off of the bed and headed towards the door.

“Hey mom!” Macey called after mom.

“Yeah?” her mom asked as she turned around.

“Thank you,” Macey paused “for everything.”

“For what sweetie?” her mom asked.

“For everything, and I am sorry I snapped at you.” Macey thanked her mom then apologized.

“You’re very welcome, and its fine you’re a teenager I understand.” Macey’s mom said then walked out her room and shut the door behind her.

After Macey and her mom finished talking she looked at her clock and it said, 6:42 a.m. She started freaking out because she only had thirteen minutes until the bus would arrive at her bus stop which is in front of her house, so she doesn’t really have a long way to walk. When Macey realized that she online had thirteen minutes she quickly jumped out of the bed and went to her closet to find a perfect outfit to wear to her new school. It is the second semester so she had to wear something impressive so she gets into the right group of people. There are a bunch of groups in high school like the jocks, the nerds, the band geeks, the glee club, the animal club, the awkward crowd and then the most impressive and important group in high school. The popular preppy girls. That is the crowd/group Macey wants to be in.

Macey picked out a pink leather skirt, a white button up T-shirt, and light pink boots. After Macey picked out the clothes that she was going to wear to her new school she went to the bathroom to get ready. First she got undressed and put her outfit on, then she brushed her teeth, got out her straightener and straightened her hair, after that she put some makeup on. After finishing getting ready and spraying some perfume on, she headed down the staircase. When she got to the bottom of the staircase her mom was standing there with a shiny gold box.

“Oh my.” Macey’s mom said.

“What?” Macey asked her mom.

“You look so grown up” her mom replied.

“Stop” Macey told her mom in a playful tone.

“Fine,” Macey’s mom paused “I got you a present for your first day of a new semester at your new school, and I think it would go perfectly with your outfit.” Macey’s mom finished as she handed Macey the gold box.

Macey took the box and opened it finding that there was a pair of diamond earrings, a beautiful charm bracelet, and an ancient looking necklace with diamonds and a faded red jewel right in the middle.  “Oh my, they are so beautiful mom, where did you get them, especially the necklace?” Macey said to her mom in an excited voice.

“I got the charm bracelet and the earrings from a jewelry store, and the necklace,” her mom paused struggling to tell her about the necklace “um, it doesn’t matter where I got it, and it is the thought that counts.” Macey’s mom dodged the question about the necklace.

“Okay, anyways I have to get going or I will miss the bus.” Macey said to her mom as she walked out the door.

Once Macey walked out the door she stopped and put her jewelry on. The first thing that she put on was the ancient looking necklace with the jewel in the middle, then she put the diamond earrings in ,last she put on the charm bracelet. Once she got her jewelry put on she walked to the bus stop. When she was walking she had her head down because she didn’t know who would be at her bus stop. Because she was walking with her head down she ran into someone.

“Hey watch where you're…” a guy started to said watch where you are going but didn’t finish when he saw Macey.

“I am so sorry, I didn’t know you were there.” Macey apologized to the guy and started walking again. But before she could even get two feet away from him he grabbed her arm with a tight grip.

The guy got really close to Macey’s ear and asked, “Are you who I think you are?”

“I don’t know, who do you think I am?” Macey responded with a question.

“I think you are Macey, the daughter of Jim and Lucy Pine.” the guy said to Macey

Macey started you have a scared look on her face. “How do you know my parents’ names, and first of all how do you know my name?”

“I know you and your parents because of my dad.” the guy said angrily.

“I am confused, how does your dad know my parents then?” Macey asked.

Before the guy even got a chance to talk to Macey anymore the bus came. When the school bus came to a screeching stop, the doors opened. Macey, the guy and the other students got on the bus and found their seats, except for the guy.

“Hey son of mine,” the bus driver paused “did Macey come yet?” the bus driver asked a little quieter.

“Dad you are so stupid, did you see know that girl in pink and white?” the guy said in an irritated voice.

“Yeah what about her?” the bus driver asked his son.

“That was Macey.” the guy said.

“WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME!” the bus driver yelled as they both looked back seeing that all the students were staring at them.

“Did you seriously not notice the necklace with the jewel on it?” the guy asked his dad.

“Nope, not really, but now that I think of it James, was that jewel kind of a faded red color?” Brandon’s dad asked.

“Yeah it was now what do you want me to do?” Brandon asked his dad.

“Nothing, I just want you to watch her, watch her every move, and protect her the best you can and if the necklace glows bright red that means someone or something is saying or doing something to her that she doesn’t like and when that happens she will start to form into whatever she is, so I brought three shots for you to use today just in case.” the bus driver said to Brandon.

“Okay, I should go and get in a seat.” Brandon stated.

“Yeah but sit close to her just in case okay, we would rather save her from turning into something and making the school miserable than let her turn into something and ruining the school and have her taken away to be tested.” the bus driver said. .

“Yes sir” Brandon said then headed towards to the back of the bus where Macey was.

James sat down in a seat next to her.

Half of the bus ride Macey was okay and everything but then she jumped up and yelled, “Don’t touch me!!!!”

“Oh come on, you know you like It.” a guy said that was sitting next to her as he tried to touch her again in a way she didn’t like.

“I told you, don’t touch me!” Macey said as she started walking towards the back of the bus. The guy followed her and pushed her against the back of the bus and started to touch her inappropriately.

“I SAID STOP IT DID YOU NOT HEAR ME!!!!” Macey yelled as her necklace started glowing just like the bus driver said it would if something is happening that she didn’t like.

Brandon looked to the back of the bus and noticed the necklace. Then looked at the bus driver and the bus driver was looking back at him and he gave him a look that said to get her out of the situation. So he did. He got up from his seat and went over to the guy looking at Macey starting to turn into whatever she is. There was black veins coming up from her neck and spreading to her face and her arms, and her eyes were starting to turn red. But apparently the guy that was touching her didn’t notice because he was still touching her.

Brandon tapped on the guys shoulder and said, “Hey.”

“Buddy she is all mine go find a different girl.” The guy said as he turn around holding Macey against the back of the bus.

“Do you know what happens to guys like you?” Brandon asked angrily.

“What?” the guy asked kind of sarcastically.

“This.” Brandon said as he pulled him away from Macey to where he was on the other side of him. Then he punched the guy in the face, punched him in the stomach and to finish it off he kicked the guy in the stomach hard enough to where he would fall down. Then he turned around to Macey and asked, “Are you ok Macey?”

Macey couldn’t answer because she was in a forming stage where she can’t talk or hear anything. Since she couldn’t respond to Brandon and she was getting worse he decided to use one of the shots. So he went to his bag and opened a box and got one of the shots out. Once he got the shot he walked to Macey and poked the needle in one of the black veins and pushed the medicine hoping it wasn’t too late. Brandon stood in front of Macey for a few minutes and she finally started to calm down and go back to normal.

“Macey, are you okay?” Brandon asked Macey.

“Yes I am fine, what just happened, and why the hell are you near me?!” Macey asked while yelling.

“It is a very long story, I will tell you on the bus after school, but right now we just arrived at school and you need to go to the counselors to get your schedule and get help find your classes.” Brandon told Macey.

“Okay, but you do promise that you will tell me what just happened right?” Macey asked Brandon.

“Yes I will Macey, now let’s go, I will get your stuff okay.” Brandon told Macey as he grabbed her bag.

“Thank you, you don’t seem bad like you came across when we were at the bus stop.” Macey said nicely.

“Yeah well I am trying to make it up.” Brandon told Macey as they walked off the bus.

Before Brandon got off the bus his dad stopped him and said, “Come here son, okay I know you are trying to be nice and all but don’t start actually liking her have it.” Brandon’s dad told him.

“I will never start liking her dad now I have to go now okay.” Brandon told his dad knowing he is already starting to like her.

Brandon turned around and got off the bus with Macey waiting at the bottom. Brandon motioned Macey to walk with him to the doors that led into the school. Brandon held the door open for Macey and then he walked in the school. Once they got in the school they headed towards the counselors office. While they were walking everyone stared at Macey. When Macey noticed that almost all the students were staring at her, her face started turning red.

“Macey you are going to be fine okay, just keep walking.” Brandon comforted Macey.

“Okay, I hope you are right.” Macey said to Brandon.

After walking for five minutes with people staring at them they finally reached the counselors office. Brandon opened the door for Macey and followed behind her. They walked up to the desk and the person behind the desk didn’t even look up at Brandon and Macey. Macey looked at Brandon, shrugged and tried to turn around a walk away but Brandon held her.

“Hello, it is very rude of you to ignore a new student.” Brandon told the person at the counselor’s office’s desk.

“Dude stop you can get in serious trouble.” Macey whispered.

“Oh it’s fine, I won’t get in trouble, trust me.” Brandon told Macey with a smile.

The person at the desk finally looked up and asked, “Hey nephew how are you?”

“I am fine but here is a new student.” Brandon said with a wink.

The person at the desk looked up at Macey and said, “Oh you’re the famous Macey that I’ve been hearing about aren’t you?”

“How the heck do you know my name without looking at the computer?” Macey said kind of freaked out and confused.

“Oh, um, you just look like a Macey, yup that is it.” The person at the front desk told Macey hoping that she wouldn’t realize that she was lying to her.

“So anyways she needs her schedule and I can help her find her classes,” Brandon said to the person at the front desk. Then he mouthed “Put her in all of my classes”

The person which is apparently James’s aunt nodded and opened a drawer. She pulled out a piece of paper, looked over it and handed it to Brandon. Then he looked it over to be sure his aunt got him in all of her classes. He then nodded and motioned Macey with his head towards the door.

“Okay Macey your first class will be biology with Mr. Jackson and he is on the middle floor which is the floor we are on right now so we will head towards there.” Brandon told Macey gazing into her blue and green eyes.

As they walked people stared at them again. Brandon looked at Macey and noticed that her face was getting red again and started to rub her back to see if that would calm her down, so as he was rubbing her back her face started coming back to normal color. It took Macey and Brandon three minutes to get to their first class. Once they reached the room they entered it and walked to the teacher.

“Hello Mr. Jackson, this is Macey Pine. She is your new student.” Brandon said to the biology teacher, Mr. Jackson.

Mr. Jackson looked up from the papers he was grading and said in a very low, kind of dark voice, “Oh, Macey, Macey, Macey, you are something else aren’t you.” Mr. Jackson said to Macey.

“Um sure you can say that.” Macey said to her new teacher.

“Well let’s find you a seat” Mr. Jackson said as he looked down at his seating chart.

“How does everyone her know who I am?” Macey whispered to James.

“Don’t ask me ask them.” Brandon told Macey knowing that he was lying to a girl that he was starting to like which kind of hurt him in a way.

“Okay Macey you will be sitting in the second seat in the second row right next to Brandon, is that fine?” Mr. Jackson asked Macey in a kind voice.

Macey looked back at Brandon then looked back at the teacher and said, “Yeah that is fine, I think it is the best since he is the only one I know her.”

“Yes, yes it is.” Brandon said as he walked closer to Macey and put his right hand on her left shoulder.

Macey looked at Brandon again and she could tell that she was blushing so she quickly looked back at the teacher. The teacher point towards her seat. Brandon walked her to her seat which is right next to his. That is because they sit at tables not desks.

Once Macey and James got settled in the bell finally rang. As other students walked in they noticed Macey and stared at her with a disgusted look. Macey was getting upset. Brandon noticed that she was getting upset and tapped on her shoulder. Macey turned her head and looked at James and then Brandon noticed that her necklace and her eyes were starting to turn red.

“Macey just look down okay, we can’t risk you…….” Brandon paused and got closer to Macey and resumed “We can’t risk you, you know forming.”

“Huh, what do you mean?” Macey asked Brandon.

“Okay I will tell you on the bus but if you notice something is bothering you or your necklace with the jewel is starting to glow red then look down or tell me okay.” Brandon told Macey exactly what to do if something were to happen.

“Okay I will, I am trusting you even though you are going to hurt me in the end.” Macey told Brandon with a sparkle in her eye.

When the last person walked in the bell rang. Once everyone was settled in the teacher started handing out papers and said, “Okay students when you get this paper I am handing out I want you to start working on it. The date is October 23, 2006,” The teacher said to the class and looked at Macey as he was handing out papers “And we also have a new student, her name is Macey Pine.” Mr. Jackson said in a low, deep, and dark teacher kind of voice.

When Macey got the paper she looked at it and hit her head on the table. Brandon looked at her and asked, “Are you okay?”

Macey lifted her head up and said, “No I am not okay, I never learned this stuff at my old school, I am totally going to fail this class.”

“Macey, you’re not going to fail this class, Mr. Jackson and I are here to help you.” Brandon told Macey in a caring voice.

Macey shrugged and said, “I guess you’re right, I should just clam down and go with the flow right?”

“Yeah sure you do that and I will be there with you through the whole time okay.” Brandon told Macey.

Macey nodded and started reading over the paper that the teacher gave her. Once she read over it she raised her hand. The teacher saw her so he came over to see what her question was.

“I didn’t learn this kind of stuff at my old school, do you mind helping me?” Macey asked Mr. Jackson.

“Yeah sure what are you confused about?” Mr. Jackson asked Macey.

“Um well,” Macey paused “Everything.” She finished.

“Okay well, let’s just take one step at a …”

“Ding!” A loud ding came from the ceiling interrupting Mr. Jackson.

“Can I please have Macey Pine to the front office as soon as she can?” A voice said from the ceiling.

“Yeah she is on her way!” Mr. Jackson yelled to the ceiling.

“Okay Macey let’s go.” Brandon said to Macey.

“Wait why are you going with me? They didn’t call for you.” Macey asked Brandon.

“Ask Mr. Jackson he knows, I know also but I want you to hear from an adult.” Brandon told Macey.

Macey looked up at Mr. Jackson and asked, “Why is he going with me. The office didn’t call him down to the front office.”

“Let’s go in the hallway and I will explain why okay. Brandon you come too.”  Mr. Jackson told Macey.

So Macey got up from her seat. Brandon was taking forever to get up so she pulled him by the ear to get him up. Surprising it worked. All three of them walked out the classroom door into the hallway. Mr. Jackson looked back at the class and said, “You guys better behave while I am out here talking to these to, if you’re not you ALL get two weeks’ worth of detention, got it, get it, good.” Then he shut the door.

“So, why does Brandon have to come with me?” Macey asked for like the fifth time.

“So he can protect you.”  Mr. Jackson told Macey.

“Why does he need to protect me?” Macey asked her teacher.

“Let’s just say that the people in the front office are um not normal.” Mr. Jackson told Macey in a quieter voice.

“So that is why I am here, so I can protect you.”  Brandon told Macey.

“Yeah, but you guy’s better get going to the office, it’s been five minutes since the lady called for you.” Mr. Jackson said.

Brandon nodded his head as he said, “Mr. Jackson, thank you for get a job as a teacher at the very last moment.”

”You’re welcome Brandon, but next time please tell me ahead of time if you can okay.” Mr. Jackson said to his nephew.

Brandon nodded and turned around. He motioned Macey to walk with him. So she did. They walked through a wide hallway then took a sharp left and walked through a slim hallway. That was the hallway with the bathrooms and the locker rooms. After they walked through the slim hallway then took a right and ahead of them was the front office. Once they got to the door as always Brandon opened the door for here and followed behind.

Macey walked up to the front desk and the lady looked up and asked, “Are you Macey Pine?”

“Yes I am.” Macey replied.

“Okay, Mrs. Molly would like to see you, her office is the third one on the right.”  The lady at the front desk told her.

“Thank you.” Macey thanked the lady.

“You’re welcome sweetheart.” The lady responded as she gave Macey an odd look.

Brandon gave the lady a rude face and said to Macey, “Let’s go Macey before she you know does something.”

“Okay.” Macey told Brandon.

Brandon nodded his head and then they headed towards Mrs. Molly’s office. They went to the third door on the right just like the lady at the front desk told them to do. Brandon knocked on the door and Mrs. Molly said they could come in. So they did. And again as always Brandon opened the door for Macey and followed behind her. They went to the two chairs that were in front of her desk, then sat down.

“What did you need from me Mrs. Molly?” Macey asked Mrs. Molly

Mrs. Molly looked at Macey then looked at Brandon and asked, “Why are you here James, I didn’t call for did I?”

“No but you know why I am here you are so very stupid.” Brandon told Mrs. Molly in a rude voice.

Mrs. Molly tilted her head to the right just a little then tilted it back to normal and yelled, “That is no way to speak to me and you know that, and yes I know why you came but you shouldn’t have because I could handle myself!”

“No you couldn’t have you know that so that is why I am here.” Brandon said to Mrs. Molly.

“Whatever, so let’s get back to you Macey, so do you know what you are?” Mrs. Molly asked Macey.

“Why the hell does everyone bring that up?” Macey cursed on accident, she usually doesn’t curse.

“There is no need to use that language with me and you know that.” Mrs. Molly said to Macey in a stern voice.

“Sorry I don’t know where that came from I usually don’t talk that way.” Macey told her.

“It is fine just next time think before you speak. So back to the subject, Brandon did you not tell her what she is yet?” Mrs. Molly said to Macey then asked Brandon a question.

“No not yet I am going to tell her on the bus.” Brandon told Mrs. Molly.

“You better because she needs to know what she is and how to control herself sooner than later and how to protect herself from things like you know the office people and me.” Mrs. Molly told Brandon.

“You don’t think I know that, so are we done here?” Brandon asked.

“No, I technically called you in here to tell Macey here some stuff about her new school.” Mrs. Molly said to Brandon.

“Okay tell me about the school, I think it would be very helpful.” Macey told her.

“Okay I will, first the people, I can tell by the way you are dressed that you want to be in the popular group am I right?” Mrs. Molly asked Macey.

“Maybe, is that a bad thing?” Macey asked.

“Not necessarily, but those girls are kind of you know like us here in the office, they will notice that you are something and exclude you because you are a lot different than we all are. Do you understand what I am telling you Macey?” Mrs. Molly said to Macey.

“I guess but Brandon I am confused so you are definitely going to tell me what I am on the bus got it.” Macey told Brandon.

“Yes I got it I already told you I would.” Brandon told Macey.

“Yeah I just wanted to be sure you didn’t forget about it.” Macey told Brandon.

“I haven’t forgot Macey I promise now,” Brandon told Macey “Now can we go Mrs. Molly?” Brandon then asked Mrs. Molly if they could leave.

“Yeah I guess, but I will be talking to you another day.” Mrs. Molly told Macey.

Macey nodded her head and turned around and headed to the door and Brandon followed behind her. Once they both got out of door and the door was closed then Macey said, “Will you please just tell me now what I am and what is going on?”

Brandon looked into her eyes and said, “I can’t Macey especially because we are at school there is not enough privacy here there are cameras voice recorders and all of that junk.”

Macey tilted her head down and sadly and said, “Okay let’s go back to class.”

“Wait, do you have a phone?” Brandon asked Macey.

“Yeah why?” Macey lifted her head back up and responded to Brandon’s question with a question.

“Because I was thinking that you could go and call your mom and ask if a friend could come over and I can explain the whole entire thing without worrying about someone hearing, well you mom will hear but she already knows.” Brandon suggested.

“Yeah that is a good idea, I will call her on the bus is that okay?” Macey asked Brandon.

“Yeah that is perfect, now let’s go back to class okay we only have ten minutes left and then we get to go to…….. Algebra.” Brandon told Macey.

“I absolutely love, love, love algebra class!” Macey shouted excitedly.

“Well that’s good that means you will understand it, and I am going to tell you something for ahead of time all of your teachers are part of my family that is how they know about you.” Brandon told Macey with a smile on his face.

“That’s how, thank you for telling me that Brandon that is one thing that will make me less confused.” Macey told Brandon then gave him a big hug then stepped back.

“Um.” Brandon said.

“I am so sorry I don’t know where that came from.” Macey apologized.

“It’s okay Macey you were happy, you weren’t thinking it is fine.” Brandon told Macey with a bigger smile on his face.

“Okay cool.” Macey said.

“Let’s go now” Brandon told Macey as he nudged Macey.

Macey nodded her head and then walked. As always, Brandon followed behind her. For the last time of the day, they passed the front desk with the creepy lady, Brandon and Macey gave her a rude stare. Then they walked out the door. They went through the same hallways as they did on the way to the office. After three minutes of walking they finally reached their classroom. The funny thing is that Mr. Jackson was waiting at the door for them.

“How did it go?” Mr. Jackson asked Brandon.

“Well those creepy ladies were there.” Brandon told Mr. Jackson.

“Yeah, they showed up the third day of school, they were actually waiting for Macey to come in, and now that she has she is actually in danger unless we can train her how to protect herself.” Mr. Jackson told Brandon as he looked at Macey.

“Brandon I am really scared, what happens if I don’t catch on to what you are trying to teach me, will I dye, what will happen to me?” Macey asked Brandon.

“Macey you will be perfectly fine okay, do you trust me?” Brandon asked Macey.

“Of course I trust you, but….” Macey answered Brandon’s question.

“Okay then, you will catch on.” Bandon cut Macey off.

Macey sighed and said, “Can we go pack up, I would like to go to the next class and meet another person that is part of your family.” Macey told Brandon.

“Yeah sure let’s go inside.” Brandon said as he put his hand on her back.

Macey nodded and looked at Mr. Jackson one last time, then walked into the classroom. When they all walked into the classroom it was silent. Everyone stared just at Macey as they all walked in the classroom. Macey stopped and looked back at Brandon. Brandon nodded his head like he was saying it is okay. Then Macey turned back around and started walking again towards the table. When she got there she unzipped her bag and put her school stuff in it. She waited for Brandon to be done and once he was they both went to the door. Macey stopped and looked back at the class which was still staring at her, then walked out the door.

The bell rang when they got out of the classroom. Brandon pulled out Macey’s schedule even though he knew where all of her classes were because she is in all of his classes. Brandon pointed at the class on the schedule and told Macey, “We are now going to go to Algebra 1 with Mr. Chance.”

“Are all my teacher going to be guys Brandon? Macey asked Brandon.

“No not all, you have one female teacher.” Brandon answered Macey.

Whew, okay good I was worried that I was going to have all guy teachers.” Macey said sarcastically.

“Macey, you will be fine trust me okay, male teachers aren’t that bad.” Brandon told Macey.

Macey nodded and then they both walked to Mr. Chance’s classroom. Once they got there they both walked in and saw that he was helping another student. So they waited for him to finish. Macey and Brandon waited for Mr. Chance until after the bell so they were technically should have been counted absent. But they weren’t because Macey is a new student. When Mr. Chance finished working with the student he was working with he went to his desk, so at that point Macey and Brandon walked to him.

“Hello Mr. Chance this is Macey Pine, your new student.” Brandon told Mr. Chance.

“Oh hello Macey, it is very nice to meet you finally. I have heard about you all good and bad things since you were a little bit.” Mr. Chance said to Macey.

“This is my uncle, another part of my family.” Brandon turned to Macey and told her what part of his family Mr. Chance was.

“Okay got it, Mr. Jackson and Mr. Chance are your uncles, is that right?” Macey asked.

“Yup you got it.” Brandon told Macey with a smile.

“Okay Macey I will have to find a spot for you to sit.” Mr. Chance told Macey.

“Can I sit by Brandon, I will feel more comfortable?” Macey asked looking at Brandon then back at the teacher.

“Yeah I am sure I can manage to change rearrange some people if you are sure you want to sit by him.” The teacher told Macey.

“Yeah, I am definitely fine with that, thank you very much.” Macey thanked Mr. Chance.

“You’re welcome Macey.” Mr. Chance told Macey.

“Let’s go I will show you where I sit, which is where you now will sit next to me.” Brandon told Macey as he pulled her arm with a light grip.

When they were walking to Macey’s new seat she had a feeling that the teacher was staring at her. And also she noticed that the student that Mr. Chance was working with was staring at her. Brandon looked at Macey and Macey looked at him, then all of a sudden Macey didn’t care if the student was staring at her or if the teacher was staring at her either.

“It is going to rough the first week but I am here, so if you need help or if you are being bullied or anything I will stop it no matter what I have to do. I am supposed to protect you and that is exactly what I am going to do.” Brandon told Macey.

“Okay, I trust you Brandon. Don’t make me regret it.” Macey told Brandon.

“I promise I won’t Macey, you can trust me.” Brandon said to Macey as he felt he was starting to blush.

So Brandon looked down, walked five more feet and finally reached his seat. Brandon put his stuff on the table and then pulled out the chair for Macey. Macey took off her backpack and sat down.

“Now do you have a notebook, a pencil, a calculator, and graph paper?” Brandon asked Macey.

“I have all of that except the calculator. In my old school we didn’t use calculators so we had to solve problems on paper. I haven’t used a calculator for like almost eight year.” Macey told Brandon as she got her notebook, a pencil, and graphing paper out.

“Wow that is a very long time, I can believe you haven’t used a calculator for that long Macey.” Brandon told Macey in shock.

“Yeah well, my last school, I was an old school and they are trying to repair it, and also my mom couldn’t afford a calculator.” Macey said as she put her head down.

“Hey Macey, it’s fine, I am sure Mr. Chance will lend you a calculator.” Brandon told Macey as he had his hand on her shoulder.

Macey nodded and proceeded to get her stuff out. Once she finally got all of her stuff that she needed the bell rang. After like ten seconds students started to walk in. This one girl stopped and looked at Macey. The girl’s eyes turned red orange then back to normal. She was dressed as a popular girl.

“Hey Jessica, if I were you I would just walk away and go to your seat.” Brandon told the girl.

“You can’t tell me what to do, is she what I think she is?!” Jessica shouted.

“Jessica, go to your seat right now or you will get two months’ worth of detention and I mean it this time!” Mr. Chance shouted at Jessica.

Jessica rolled her eyes and started heading towards her seat but before she started going to her seat she stopped and said to Macey, “You can’t be protected forever I hope you know that.” Then she walked to her seat.

Macey looked at Brandon and asked, “Brandon, what the heck was that all about?”

“Don’t worry about it, you will be fine and always protected no matter what anyone says or no matter what happens.” Brandon told Macey.

“Okay I better be protected.” Macey said as the teacher started handing out worksheets.

“Okay class lets settle down and be quiet.” Mr. Chance said to the class.

“Are you going to need help Macey with this or do you understand?” Mr. Chance asked Macey.

“Oh I will be perfectly fine Mr. Chance, this stuff is easy compared to what I did at my new school.” Macey told the teacher.

“We have a show off in this class everybody!” Jessica shouted.

“Just because she is smart than you Jessica doesn’t mean you have to be a B**** about it.” Brandon said to Jessica which was the one you rudely spoke to Macey.

“That was so rude Brandon.” Jessica told Brandon.

“Hey Jessica,” Macey paused gaining confidence when she looked at Brandon “He is right, you really don’t have to be a B****.” She finished.

“Uh, how rude, Mr. Chance aren’t you going to give her detention or something?” Jessica asked the teacher.

Mr. Chance looked at Macey, then Brandon, then back to Macey, then back to Jessica and said, “Jessica Marie, you have two weeks’ worth of detention for being a B**** to Macey.

“What, why they were calling me a B****, how come I have to have detention?!” Jessica wined.

“Ha, you should know Jessica, whoever what mean first gets in trouble you should know that by now.” Brandon said to Jessica.

“Whatever.” Jessica said rudely with her face turning bright red.

“Are you okay Macey?” Mr. Chance asked Macey in a concerned tone of voice.

“Yeah I am fine, let’s go back to working okay.” Macey told Mr. Chance.

“Okay Macey but if there is anything that is bothering you either tell me or Brandon and we will help you out okay.” Mr. Chance told Macey.

“Okay, thank you very much Mr. Chance.” Macey thanked her teacher.

Mr. Chance nodded his head once and went on. Macey started on the work and she was already half way done when Brandon just got done working on the first one. He glanced over at Macey’s work and his jaw dropped in shock. He knew that Macey said that she did this stuff at her old school but she didn’t expect her to be that good.

“Dang Macey, you really are good aren’t you.” Brandon said to Macey.

“I told you we did this stuff at my old school did I not.” Macey told Brandon smiling.

“True you did, I guess I just forgot.” Brandon told Macey.

“Yeah okay, anyways do you need help?” Macey asked Brandon saying “you” a little louder than the other words.

“Um, maybe just one question.” Brandon said kind of in a quieter voice to be less embarrassed.

“Okay what question is it?” Macey asked Brandon looking at his paper then at him.

“It is number two, I don’t understand it at all.” Brandon told Macey pointing at the paper.

“Okay well first,”

“Okay class, let’s stop working on that paper and let’s move on to grading the homework.” Mr. Chance told the class leaving Macey’s sentence unfinished.

When she saw everyone getting out their homework she got up and started going to Mr. Chance when Jessica yelled, “Macey, you don’t have permission to get up out of your seat, everyone we have a rule breaker!”

“Uh oh!” the whole class said.

Macey turned around and said, “Jessica, I need to tell you something,” Macey said as she walked to Jessica’s table “We are not in second grade got it, and if you seriously have that big of a problem with me that you try to get me in trouble for the littlest things say it to my face. And if you don’t that means you are scared to tell the truth, my fuse is running short so if I were you I would either stop your crap or just tell me that you have a problem with me and we can deal with it in an adult manner, do you understand me.” Macey said to Jessica sternly.

“Whatever.” Jessica said noticing that Macey’s necklace was glowing red.

“That’s what I thought.” Macey said and turned around and started walking to the teacher.

“Hey Macey!” Jessica shouted after Macey.

Macey turned around and yelled, “What!”

Jessica stood up and walked to Macey. When she stopped she grabbed her necklace and pulled it right off of Macey’s neck. “What’s up with this necklace, why was it glowing huh?” Jessica asked as she was getting ready to throw the necklace on the ground to break it. But right before she was going to throw it a hand grabbed her wrist and another hand grabbed the necklace.

“What the hell do you think you are doing?!” Jessica yelled.

“Jessica, you better knock your s*** off before I make you stop to you understand me, I am so sick and tired of treating not just Macey like crap but others, if I so much as hear you say something rude like you have to Macey then you know what will happen. We both do, do you understand me Jessica?” Brandon scolded Jessica, and he was also the one who took the necklace from Jessica’s hand.

“Dang Brandon, why do you care so much?” Jessica asked Brandon seeing what he would say.

“Jessica you know why, and now this is done and you are going to be done also.” Brandon told Jessica.

“Whatever, but you will regret everything that happened today.” Jessica said to Brandon and Macey.

“Is that a threat, because if it is you can get into serious trouble I hope you know that Jessica.” Macey said to Jessica then turned around and looked at Mr. Chance, and he was just standing there with a surprised look on his face.

“Okay Macey what were you going to come up for?” Mr. Chance asked Macey.

“Um, I don’t have the homework.” Macey explained to Mr. Chance.

“Oh you don’t have to worry about that, you will get the next homework assignment, okay.” Mr. Chance told Macey with a caring voice.

“Okay, thank you.” Macey thanked her teacher.

“You’re welcome Macey.” Mr. Chance replied. “Oh and also would you like to go out in the hallway? Brandon can go with you because he wasn’t here on Friday so he didn’t get the homework either.” Mr. Chance suggested.

“Yeah sure, I think that is a good idea Mr. Chance.” Macey told Mr. Chance. “Come on Brandon let’s go in the hallway.” Macey turned to Brandon.

Brandon nodded once then got up, but before he went out in the hallway with Macey he packed up his stuff because he didn’t know how long the homework grading was going to take. So after he packed his stuff he walked to Macey and they both walked out in the hallway. Once they were out Mr. Chance shut the door. Macey and Brandon looked at each other and then sat down on the floor against the cold brick wall.

“So Macey, I know you haven’t been at this school for a while but how do you like it, you know except Jessica, she is always like that so it’s nothing new?” Brandon asked Macey.

“Yeah besides Jessica I think I am going to like this school.” Macey replied.

“Good, that is awesome.” Brandon said.

“Yes, yes it is.” Macey said to Brandon.

Macey and Brandon sat in the hallway waiting for the teacher to come and get them. Brandon looked at the clock that was in the hallway right outside Mr. Chance’s door and it said 11:28. They only had four more minutes until the bell would ring. So they waiting two more minutes to see if Mr. Chance would come and get them but he didn’t so Macey and Brandon both got up and walked to the door. Brandon knocked on the door and Macey just stood there waiting. It was one minutes until the bell would ring. Finally someone came to the door and opened it, it was Jessica. After she opened she tried to shut it very quickly but Brandon put his foot in the way to where the door wouldn’t shut.

“Nice try Jessica, move so we can go and get our stuff.” Brandon told Jessica.

“What if I don’t want too?” Jessica said in a mean voice.

“Jessica, I am going to give you one chance to move and if you don’t we are going to have a lot more problems between us than we already have, to you understand.” Macey said to Jessica irritated.

“Fine, I will move this time but next time don’t expect me to move for you guys.” Jessica told Brandon and Macey.

Jessica finally moved. Macey and Brandon rushed to their stuff, put their backpacks on and then walked to the door, Right when they got to the door the bell rang. Macey and Brandon quickly walked out the door and stopped where there weren’t a lot of people. Then Brandon pulled out Macey’s schedule pretending he has no idea what her schedule is but he really does because he has the same exact classes as she does. Brandon looked at the schedule and pointed at Macey’s next class.

“Okay Macey your next class is English 2. You will be with Ms. Julie. She is very respectful and she is also one of my aunts.” Brandon told Macey.

“Okay, I do like respectful teachers.” Macey said to Brandon.

“Okay now we have four minutes to get to class and Ms. Julie’s class is on the other side of the school so we have to hurry up a little bit okay.” Brandon told Macey.

“Okay let’s go.” Macey said to Brandon as she as she started walking.

“Macey do you even know where the class is?” Brandon asked Macey.

“Oh right, will you lead me to my class?” Macey replied with a question.

“Yup, of course I will let’s go, we now only have two minutes to get to class but Ms. Julie might let you by today since you are new and stuff.” Brandon told Macey with a smile on his face.

“Yeah let’s hope so, because I don’t really want a tardy on my first day at a new school.” Macey told Brandon.

“Yeah, now let’s go.” Brandon told Macey as he started walking.

Brandon was walking next, not behind, not in front, next to Macey because one, his job was to protect her, second, he still was able to help Macey find her class that way, and third, he thought it would be more safe for Macey. When they were walking every single corner they came to except for like three, they turned. After walking for two minutes the bell rang and Macey started to freak out even though Ms. Julie might let he be late this time.

“Macey, you are fine okay.” Brandon told Macey putting his hand on her shoulder.

“Okay, I just don’t like being late.” Macey told Brandon.

“Yeah, I can tell.” Brandon said as they still walked.

After walking for another two minutes they finally reached their class room. The door was shut and locked so Brandon knocked on it. They waited fifteen seconds until someone came and opened the door for them. The person who opened the door for them was Jessica. Macey rolled her eyes as she walked into the classroom with Brandon.

“You again, why the hell are you following me?” Jessica asked rudely.

“Jessica, oh Jessica, I am not going to let you and your smart ass comments bother me anymore because right now you don’t mean anything to me, so yeah.” Macey told Jessica.

Jessica stood there with her mouth open as Macey and Brandon walked to the teacher. Ms. Julie wasn’t paying attention so they waited to see if she would notice them. After waiting for five minutes Brandon finally got tired of waiting so he tapped on her shoulder.

“You are supposed to be in your” Ms. Julie stated saying, ”oh hey Brandon, who the beautiful young lady is standing next to you?” She finished

Brandon whispered in her ear, “Look at the necklace.”

Ms. Julie looked at the necklace and said, “You must be Macey Pine am I right?” Ms. Julie asked knowing it was actually Macey standing in front of her.

“Yup, I am Macey Pine.” Macey said.

“Well it is very nice to finally meet you Macey. Let me officially introduce myself, I am Ms. Julie I will be your English 2 teacher.” Ms. Julie told Macey in a very kind voice.

“Well it is very nice to meet you Ms. Julie, I have a question.” Macey stated.

“Of course, I will answer any question you have.” Ms. Julie told Macey.

“Okay, can I sit next to Brandon, I have sat next to him in my other classes and it makes me feel, you know safer and more comfortable.” Macey said getting closer to Ms. Julie and her voice getting softer.

Ms. Julie waited to answer after fifteen seconds like she was thinking then she said to Macey, “Yes that will be fine if it is okay with Brandon.”

“Yes that will be perfectly fine Ms. Julie, thank you very much, now let’s go Macey.” Brandon said to Ms. Julie then turned to Macey.

“Okay, it was nice meeting you Ms. Julie.” Macey said before she went to her seat next to Brandon.

“It was very nice to meet you to, I think we will have a great semester together.” Ms. Julie said very nicely.

Macey nodded then followed Brandon to her seat. As they walked, all of the students looked up at Macey and Macey only. They rolled their eyes, they grunted and just were rude. But the only person who was quiet was Jessica. Macey was happy about that because she thought she scared her enough to not do or say anything mean. As all the student were grunting and all of that, Macey’s necklace started to light up, her eyes started to turn dark red, and black veins started to appear again. Macey grabbed Brandon’s arm and he turned around.

“Ms. Julie!” Brandon called for his teacher.

“Yes!” Ms. Julie shouted turning around finding what was happening to Macey.

“What the hell is happening to her she is demented.” A boy said pointing at her.

Macey’s grip on Brandon’s arm was letting him know that she was getting worse, he could just tell, so he yelled, “Ms. Julie, come her quick!”

Ms. Julie grabbed her phone and ran to where Macey and Brandon were. Ms. Julie dialed a phone number on her phone then put it up to her ear. It rang three times before someone answered. “Mr. Jackson, you need to get here quick and call Mr. Chance and tell him to come also, and hurry because I don’t think we have much time.” Then she hung up the phone.

Ms. Julie looked outside and noticed that the sky was turning from bright and sunny to dark and stormy. Then she looked back at Macey, then at Brandon. She noticed that Brandon’s arm was bleeding because Macey had dug her nailed into his arm.

“Macey, look at me you have to let go of Brandon okay.” Ms. Julie said as she was pulling Macey hand off of Brandon’s arm.

Macey quickly turned her head and took her other hand and scratched her face. After Macey scratched Ms. Julies face it immediately healed. Ms. Julie grabbed both of Macey’s wrists before she could do anymore harm to anyone else. After dealing with Macey for like seven minutes Mr. Chance and Mr. Jackson came bursting in the class room. Mr. Jackson was carrying a shot and Mr. Chance was carrying a cold and wet wash cloth to put around Macey’s neck.

“Okay everybody move away from Macey.” Mr. Jackson said as him and Mr. Chance were fast walking towards Macey, Ms. Julie and Brandon.

Once everyone moved away from Macey her skin complexion started to turn jet black. “Mr. Jackson you need to give her that shot and quickly to.” Ms. Julie said.

Mr. Jackson nodded and got the shot ready. “Okay, Mr. Chance I want you to stand behind her and catch her if she falls.”

So that is exactly what he did. Once Mr. Chance was behind Macey Mr. Jackson poked the needle into one of Macey’s black veins and pushed the liquid that was inside the tube into the vein. Just like Mr. Jackson predicted Macey did fall, and Mr. Chance caught her. Mr. Chance picked her up and carried her outside the door into the hall and Mr. Jackson, Ms. Julie followed him.

“Brandon you can come out with us too if you would like.” Mr. Jackson told Brandon

“Okay I will come out, just let me pack my stuff just in case.” Brandon told him.

Mr. Jackson nodded then disappeared into the hallway with the others. Brandon did exactly what he said he would, he packed up his stuff then went out in the hallway where the others were. When he went out there he shut the door behind him. Then he looked at where Macey was and she was laying down on the ground with the teachers surrounding her. She had a wet, cold wash cloth on her forehead and had an oxygen mask on.

“Is she okay?” Brandon asked.

“Yeah she will be fine, she just needs time to recover.” Mr. Jackson told Brandon in a concerned tone of voice.

“Yeah let’s hope so, this wouldn’t have happened if I would have just took her out in the hall.” Brandon said putting his head down.

“Brandon, there wasn’t actually anything you could do, all that anger in her would have already built up and she would have you know, had this happen to her one way or the other. It is not your fault, please do not blame yourself for something you couldn’t really help.” Ms. Julie told Brandon with a kind voice.

“Well that makes me feel a little better. I just am caring about her a lot more than I started out with.” Brandon told Ms. Julie.

“Wait, are you saying that you like her? Like, like her?” Mr. Jackson asked looking away from Macey to Brandon.

“I, I don’t know, I have never had this feeling around any other person like I do around Macey.” Brandon said out loud.

“Brandon, listen to me. That does mean you like her, and that is fine but you can’t let her know that you do because that will ruin the whole you protecting her thing.” Mr. Chance told Brandon looking him straight in the eyes.

“I know that, I will try to not let it slip out. I don’t really want to end up where the others ended up just because I made one little mistake.” Brandon told all of them.

“That’s my boy.” All the teachers said at the same time.

After Ms. Julie, Mr. Chance, Mr. Jackson, and Brandon finally finished their conversation they all noticed something. That something was that Macey was standing up behind them.

“Why are we all out here? What happened?” Macey asked confused.

“I will tell you at your house if I am able to come over which I most likely will be allowed to because your mom has met me and I am obviously here to protect you so yeah.” Brandon told Macey.

“Okay. Um, shouldn’t we be getting back in the classroom?” Macey asked Brandon looking at the teachers.

“Yes, now let’s go. Thank you Travis, and Jason.” Ms. Julie thanked the other teachers and saying their real names.

Mr. Jackson nodded his head and Mr. Chance said, “You’re welcome.”

It has been thirty minutes sine they all have been out in the hallway. There was only twenty-seven minutes left in class though. When Macey, Brandon, and Ms. Julie walked in the classroom it sounded like they were at the zoo. It was so loud. It then got quiet when the teacher shut the door. All the students looked at all three of them, and as Macey and Brandon walked to their seats everyone who sat near them stared at them.

“Hey guys look the freak show is back!” one of the students yelled, then everyone laughed.

Ms. Julie clapped her hands loudly and yelled, “Okay class let’s get back to work, and whoever yelled that come up to my desk immediately!”

Right after the teacher yelled that a boy got up from his seat and walked up to her desk like she said to do. Macey and Brandon sat down in their seats and watched the teacher scold the student who blurted something mean out.

“Do you think all of my classes will be like this? People calling me a freak, stupid, show off and stuff?” Macey asked Brandon.

“Let’s hope not, this school is usually a really good school, I don’t know why it is all of a sudden like this.” Brandon told Macey.

“Yeah, I think when Jessica is around there is a disturbance in the force.” Macey said with a little smile across her face.

“So true.” Brandon said as he started to laugh.

“So how much time do we have left of this class?” Macey asked.

“Um, I don’t know let me check.” Brandon told Macey as he pulled his phone out form his back pocket.

“Okay.” Macey said.

After Brandon checked his phone he said, “We have twenty minutes left in this class then we have lunch.”

“Okay cool, thanks.” Macey thanked Brandon.

“You’re welcome.” Brandon said to Macey with a hug smile on his face.

Macey looked up and saw that the student who yelled was stomping angrily back to his seat. Macey was laughing on the inside. She wanted to laugh out loud so badly but she couldn’t because if she did she would get in trouble and she didn’t’ want that. So Macey kept her thoughts to herself like Brandon, Jessica and the others should have done.

It was ten minutes until the bell would ring. “Okay class we don’t have much time until the bell rings so we need to grade our homework before we have to leave, so everyone quickly get out your homework except for you Macey since you didn’t get to get it.” Ms. Julie told the class.

Every student in the room except for Macey did get their homework out to grade. Macey looked around and felt embarrassed because she was the only one without the homework. So she put her head down. That was the only way to avoid doing what she just did.

“Okay! I will put the answers on the board and you will grade then based off of that okay.” Ms. Julie shouted out loud.

So that is exactly what the class did, they graded the homework based on the answers that were given on the board. As the students finished grading they brought the homework up front and made a stack on the turn in table. After they did that they went back to their seats and packed up. Right after the last person turned theirs in the bell rang to go to lunch.

“Yes, a part of school that I actually like.” Macey said in a hushed voice.

Brandon looked at Macey with a confused look on his face and said, “I thought math was your favorite part of school.”

“Well that is Academic, lunch is where I can cool down and take a break. It always helps me.” Macey told Brandon.

“Oh that totally makes sense now.” Brandon said feeling stupid now.

“Yeah, duh.” Macey said with a huge smile on her face.

So as Brandon and Macey walked to the lunch room they had to go through a whole stampede of high school students that were also going to eat lunch. Everyone was pushed and shoved sometimes the small students were actually pushed down to grounded because they were either going to slow or they weren’t paying attention to what was going around them like looking at their phones or talking to their friends. So that really sucked for them. But luckily Macey and Brandon were tall enough so that wouldn’t happen to them.

As they reached the lunchroom doors Brandon pointed to where he usually sits and Macey looked and nodded then they went to the lunch line where obviously all the students where except for the ones who brought their lunches. Those who brought their lunches were lucky because they didn’t have to be in line with a bunch of other students who were hurrying and also that smell bad because some of them came from P.E. which is Macey’s second favorite class.

Macey and Brandon walked through the lunch line. The menu had popcorn chicken and French fries. “I’m going to get the popcorn chicken and French fries.” Macey and Brandon grabbed a lunch tray and slowly walked as the lunch line moved forward at a slow pace. It took five minutes to finally get to the food. They held out their trays to the lunch lady the she put the food on their trays. Once the food was on their trays they walked to the computer where they type in their name and grade and that is how they pay for their food. So Brandon typed in his name first, then his grade and pushed enter. Then Macey did the same thing.

“Okay now let’s go sit down.” Brandon and Macey said at the same time.

They both smiled and then Brandon turned and started walking to where they were going to sit. Macey followed him.

“Hey Brandon who’s the girl?!” One of Brandon’s friends shouted at him.

Brandon waited until he got to the table to answer his friend. “Her name is Macey, the one I told you about that was coming here.” Brandon replied to his friend’s question when he reached the table.

“Oh right, dude I totally forgot.” Brandon’s friend told him.

“Yeah I am sorry if I am invading your dude town.” Macey said with a little chuckle.

“It’s okay girly, go ahead and sit down, any friend of Brandon’s can sit here.” The same guy told Macey.

“Okay cool, thanks, I appreciate that.” Macey said as she put her lunch tray down.

After Macey sat down, Brandon sat down right next to her. Then they ate their food. They were so busy eating and talking they didn’t really realize what time it was. When Macey looked up at the clock to see how much time she had until she had to go to her next class she saw that she only had two minutes left.

“Brandon we need to wrap it up and go dump our trays, we only have two minutes.” Macey told Brandon.

“Oh crap, I am sorry Macey, I wasn’t paying attention to time.” Brandon apologized.

“Its fine, I wasn’t paying attention either, but let’s just go dump our trays while we have the time okay. You are going to have to show me though where to dump our trays cause’ I have no idea where to.” Macey told Brandon.

“I will show you where it is. Hopefully you will know where everything is for today’s classes. Then tomorrow I will have to show you where the rest of your classes are okay.” Brandon told Macey.

“Okay, thank you for helping me so much even though you didn’t have to.” Macey thanked Brandon.

You’re welcome, and I kind of did have to help you, dad’s orders.” Brandon told Macey.

“Well at least you agreed to do it right?” Macey asked Brandon.

“Yeah that is true, now let’s get you to your next class we don’t want to be late again on your first day now do we.” Brandon told Macey.

“Yeah, that is a good idea, now you lead the way and I will follow, is that okay?” Macey asked Brandon.

“Yeah, that is perfectly fine, now let’s go okay.” Brandon told Macey.

“Okay.” Macey spoke.

As Brandon led the way to their next class which is gym, Macey heard the shuffling of someone’s feet. She felt like someone was following them. She turned around to check and see if there was someone following them and sure enough there was. An odd looking body.

“Brandon I have a question, is that figure supposed to be following us?” Macey asked Brandon.

Brandon turned around to see what Macey was seeing. His eyes opened wide. Brandon jumped in front of Macey and said, “Macey stand back I got this.”

Right as he said that the odd looking body came running towards them. Brandon them opened his arms wide then closed them to a loud clap. Right after he did that there was a big shield covering the front of them. When the odd looking figure reached to the shield it ran into the shield then disappeared. When that happened Brandon took his hands apart. And the shield went away. He turned around to see not just Macey staring at him with her mouth open, it was more like the whole school.

“Hey guys, I guess we have another freak in school.” A student yelled from the crowd of students.

“I’d watch what you say, because that is not all I can do so you better go right now before someone else disappears or get hurt got it, get it , good!” Brandon shouted to the crowed of students.

After Brandon shouted that all the students except Macey scattered quickly around to go to their classes. Brandon stood their thinking that nobody especially his friends would like him anymore. But the thing was that he didn’t care, he didn’t really need friends or people to like him to get through life he just needed to focus on school and keeping Macey safe.

“What the H*** was that Brandon?” Macey asked Brandon in a confused and a surprised tone of voice.

“You’re not the only one who is special in a very, different way you know.” Brandon said with a chuckle.

“Now I know that.” Macey said while laughing.

After all of that happened Brandon kept leading the way to the gym. As they walked the hallway started clearing up because the tardy bell was going to ring in one minute. Brandon looked at the clock and started walking a little faster than usual, so Macey started walking faster also. By the time the bell rang Brandon and Macey were in the gym.

“Well I am glad we weren’t late to gym.” Macey said with a smile on her face.

“Yeah same.” Brandon told Macey.

“So what unit are you guys in?” Macey asked Brandon.

“We are in soccer.” Brandon responded to Macey’s question.

“Awesome! I love, love, love soccer, like you have no idea how much I love soccer because I love it so much.” Macey said with glee.

“Why do you love soccer so much Macey?” Brandon asked Macey nicely.

“Well I have played soccer since I was four, and I also played on the school soccer team. Well until I had to move here, Macey paused “I’ve played on so many schools soccer teams because I have moved so much, I have not even got through a full semester playing soccer at a school.” Macey finished almost crying.

“Hey look, you have me here so you won’t be moving anytime soon, and there are still soccer tryouts for this school if you want to try out.” Brandon told Macey with a big smile.

“Really? Awesome! I will totally try out.” Macey said excitedly.

“Good, you will really like it I know that.” Brandon told Macey.

Macey nodded and walked to the gym teacher. “Hey, I am Macey and am a new student.”

After Macey spoke to the coach the coach turned around and said, “I know who you are, how are you today? How have all you classes been?

Macey's mom walked into her room and said, “Honey, we are moving for your safety.”
