Stem cells are natures master cells. They are basically immortal, they self renew, so they can't really die if provided with the right nutreints. Stem cells hold promises for curing disorders like Parkinson's, heart, and Alzheimer's disease, even diabetes and spinal cord injury. Stem cell process - 1- An egg is fertilized to form an embryo. The embryo begins to divide itself. 2-The embryo divides into more and more cells, and forms a hollow ball of cells called a blastocyst.(1-5 days) 3- The embryonic stem cells begin to form along the inside of the blastocyst, creating the inner cell mass.(5-7 days) 4- The cells are scraped away and grown on a layer of feeder cells and culture medium.5- Groups of stem cells are cared for specially with different kinds of nutrients and growth factors that direct the cells to become various body tissues.
