Over

In this moment of evolution

I count,
On all my fingers and toes -
Each minute I kissed them,
All of them -

Every digit i bend over
I cripple a memory -
An embrace, an age-old wish,
A text I shouldn’t have sent

Time taught us well
That some things are only ritual -
Rituals that leave a hollow template
For when boys turn to men
When we put away pencils for pens -

It took alchemy for me
To melt charcoal lust
Add some self deception
And coat my throat in a gold lie -
My words dripped
With bitter nectar

Truth time’s triumph;
Finally tasting the lie on your own tongue
Is a liberation,
A blessing

Now I’m free
Hell out of dodge -
But I look back at you, and them -
And you’re still in the creche
Humouring children

But it’s no longer my place to comment
On the circles you choose
I just watch -
With my friends in low places
Who feed my silent laughter -
WIth the stories and images of the texts you send
To boys, boys, boys, boys,

<3 ;) :D, and the rest
What’s a year or three
Sepia or willow?

But never mind,
The winter draws near
And the darkness too, come close -
I embrace them
As I embraced you all

And the boy is gone
