Today karma stuck it’s ugly, or should I say blessed foot up the racers butt! So, get yourself a cup of tea, herbal, Chai or coffee and sit back and relax whilst I tell you why the man upstairs really does call the shots!

Good morning, afternoon, evening. Welcome to the second edition of Kb’s thought of the day. I want to be sure everyone knows what I mean when I use the term - boy racer. Oh and my friend has just informed me there are the rare girl racers too, so for arguments sake lets just call them ‘racers’.

In short, you know those young lads (I wont go so far as to say men, really they are far from it) who like to drive fast, too fast, who are often in bright coloured cars with blacked out winders, alloys, bumper stickers and bopping to a heavy bass, their friends in the back giving it some as they pass by. They are racers! There are a lot of these racers in my town, and probably, if you are in the UK you will know exactly what I mean.

Today though I think karma stuck it’s ugly, or should I say blessed foot up the racers butt! So, get yourself a cup of tea, herbal, Chai or coffee and sit back and relax whilst I tell you why the man upstairs really does call the shots!

Today I left my house in my lovely Nissan - which you will be amused to know I nick named hobnob, and headed for my friends house over the other side of town. Traffic was bad as a usual and the red lights popped up at every junction! I was Ok with it though, I was in no rush, time was mine for the taking. So happy, I sat singing to Over The Rhine, (had to get that in there - they’re awesome!) only to feel my shoulders tense as two cars, both racers pulled up beside me.

The first was a yellow car and the passenger had his window down, trying to spike irritation in the surrounding cars. The second was a black Fiesta and whilst waiting behind the first racer, revved it’s engine impatiently.

I didn’t care, only the thought of getting hit by one of them concerned me. So When the lights turned green I let them fly in front, leaving me and the rest of us at the lights for dust. I could thesee passengers in their cars throwing their hands up and hitting their steering wheels. Me, I sighed and settled into 3rd gear, continuing on with my journey.

Everything went back to being calm and happy, the music keeping me tame until I reached the roundabout where the racers slowed behind another car and stupidly overtook on the outside line of the roundabout! Sorry, but that’s just dumb! If you have a death wish, then sure go ahead but for all you racers - showing off IS a turn off!

The funniest thing happened next, and really you will have to bare with me while I chuckle into my keyboard because when I reached the next set of lights I saw the racers again. I wondered how they hadn’t gotten further along by now, but when the light changed and the cars moved off I notice they were stuck behind another car. Not just any car, nope, this was a hurse (a funeral car)! As I passed them in my lovely hobnob, I smiled and watched them drift into the background in my wing mirror.

See, sometimes karma comes back around and sometimes, just sometimes, god puts his finger down. This time, I felt for sure God had spoken!

So my thought of the day is for all you boy racers, girl racers, racers with blacked out windows and racers with fluffy dices hanging from your mirror -Beware, for god is watching!

Phew, I feel better for sharing!Hah!
