In a land of magic, peace, and war, a great reign of prosperity has risen in the land. However, it had not always been so. A long time ago, a gem of terrible but great power had fallen into the lands: the gem of life. However, the finder of this gem was a young and kindhearted boy that used his power wisely.
Unfortunately, with life also comes death. A fragment of the gem had broken off to form the gem of death, which was found by another young boy, this one filled with bitter anger at the harshness of the world. He was twisted into the first Ziorg, a fearsome race of warriors.
And thus began a great war. Terror stalked the land, and blood flowed in rivers. Ziork the Elementist of life emerged as the victor, and peace returned. However, haunted by all of the deaths he had caused, Ziork shattered his gem, committing suicide.
However, the gem was not destroyed. The fragments were scattered and contained the power of an element. As people found them and acquired their power, the era of the Elementists arose. They watched over the land and were greatly revered.
Now, an ordinary apprentice smith called Zann stumbles upon one of the legendary gems of fire. He must make his journey to the Elementist Tower and begin strenuous physical, mental, and elemental training.
In the midst of Zann's newfound life, rumors sweep the lands. It narrows down to one tale: the Ziorgs are coming back to conquer the world of men.
