THE PORTRAIT OF RAIN
The rain came long afterwards again
Pouring through the sky as from holes,
Giving life to one and all
Quenching thirst of great and small.
It gave movement to the rivers,
To the ponds and lakes and simply water,
It gave the oceans’ waves many turns
Putting off hearts blazing flame before it burns.
The trees began dancing with each pouring drop
Leaves all began singing out of pleasure,
The birds in them could not but be gay
Chirruped in happiness like never and nay.
The earth relaxed heaving a great sigh of relief
The drizzle burst out of every soul’s prayer and belief,
Came like drink of immortality the pleasant rain
Making all free from the burning pain.
In some distant land the fisherman sang
Their hearts filled with pleasure and amusement,
He felt the warmth of rain in his heart
Imagining a beautiful picture with minds magical art.
The beauty of nature is surely enhanced
With the pearl like drops of rain,
It acts as soothing and healing balm
For the mind and heart and keeps them calm.
The rain came long afterwards again
Pouring through the sky as from holes,
Giving life to one and all
Quenching thirst of great and small.

Wow! Really like this! I was looking for poetry that wasn't about falling in love and bla bla cheesy stuff (because it can get boring sometimes) And this is amazing! I really like how you described the rain. AWESOME!
