This is one of the reasons I write poetry. Escape into the words, so the meaning doesn't seem real..

The nice weather.

The sunshine.

The families.

The friends.

The food.

The holidays.

The love.

All things wonderful.

And yet.

The memories.

The happy.

The sad.

The dark.

All the memories.

Come back.

To me.

Every time.

I’m here.

Every time.

I relive the past.

I like my memories.

Just not all of them.

I want to retain.

The happy.

And lose the sad.

I don’t want to live in the past.

I want to live in the now.

These memories that I have.

I wish they could just fade away.

And remain in the past.

But they can’t.

And they won’t.

At least it’s not worse though.

I still have the happy memories.
