it goes by fast and doesn't slow

Dawn & Sunset
The light sparkles behind the mountains
Growing dimmer by the thought
Moving faster than my legs can carry
The gravel rough beneath my feet
Time is running out
The field around me innocent with life
Becomes a dark shadow before my eyes
By now it is all a blur
I do not know where I have been
Or where I’m going

All I recognize is the beating of my heart

Like echoes of the beating drums
Like flying now my feet hardly feel

The sun is shrinking faster than the mountains

Am I there?
I will never know
Because time is moving too fast
Spinning in and out
I cannot afford to stop
But if I do not I will never know

I am caught

Between Dawn
And Sunset
