Through the dark and narrow street,

I roam as one who walks his beat.

A sultry night when we did meet,

my trembling voice afraid to speak.

A Wondrous night that was for me,

my eyes were blessed when I did see,

the man whose face so dear to me.

A man not proud, but strong and meek,

who walks though soft, with a big stick.

my heart he broke, he's not to blame,

he never once put me to shame.

My hand he shook and held it near,

my heart it lept, in love I fear.

My heart does wander for him still,

an emptiness inside I feel.

The man who lives beneath the stars,

his body wrought with seasons' scars.

At night I pass to steal a view,

my spirits lifted when I do,

But when those times you're out of sight,

alone I pass, me and my plight,

to search you out on my next flight,

and drive and drive, into the night................
