~~Giving It Up Tonight

I finally gain the courage,
To ask her the question that I have been possessing for years,
I anxiously wait for her crimson lips to speak,
And a sigh of relief escapes my mouth as she tells me exactly what I want to hear,
I gaze into her crystal blue eyes,
To see if she really means it,
But she shuts them tight and I catch a glimpse of her lips trembling,
My instincts tell me to stop,
To get off her,
To hold her tight,
But I don’t,
I stay close to her and gently push,
And suddenly I am on top of the world,
Everything vanishes and I become overpowered with heated passion,
All I want to do is thank her and crash into her continuously,
Tears escape her eyes and her body shakes,
My heart rips in half as I realize how wrong I am,
But everything feels so right,
I cocoon her in my arms and lightly kiss her fragile lips,
And like magic she relaxes into me.

I'm sort of getting the feeling she was a virgin-- otherwise, tears and trembling usually isn't a good sign ;S It's different to read a piece like this from a man's perspective, and the difference in their feelings during the intimate moment-- her trembling, possibly in pain; him blissful, though wary of her state-- is put across well. He didn't want to stop--and didn't-- but felt guilty at her pain; both selfish and caring in the one moment. It flows well and I liked how it didn't rhyme, as it makes it easier to get your point across. Good imagery and the ending almost trailed off, like there's more to come (heh heh). Good job; keep writing! :)

I liked it, your poetry has such powerful imagery with it. I also felt like I could relate to this poem a little bit.

I love this piece it. It's pretty. It was clear to me what this was about and fascinating to actually see it from a guy's perspective. I really enjoyed it.

Love and tenderness turns to primal passion and then love and tenderness again. If it's consensual then all is well in my eyes. There was a little fear and apprehension but both parties were willing. I loved the end. So loving and caring. "I cocoon her in my arms and lightly kiss her fragile lips"
"And like magic she relaxes into me." her fear and apprehension dissolved. Again another poem written from the heart and truthfully. Great job ")
