There was only 10.5 seconds on the clock left in the game and it was tied 2-2. The teams were the Lavender Cougars and the undefeated Calgary Wargons. The Cougars called a timeout to talk about a play that they've been working on and the coach decided to try it out on the Wargons. With only 10.5 seconds to go before they go into over time. The referee was about to drop the puck and the lights went out…

Ten hours earlier the captain of the Lavender Cougars Greg was sitting in a desk listing to his professor talk about World War 2. Just then the bell rang to dismiss class and Greg asked his professor if he would come to the last game to support him. The professor said, “Well I don’t know any thing about hockey but I could watch the game with my friends that love hockey and maybe they can tell me some stuff about it.” Greg then replayed, “Ok I would like to see you their Mr. Pamannerdys.”

Then Greg left campus so he could get some more practice on the new play that his coach is trying to teach them this year for the first time. On his way to the ice rink he was stopped by eight-teen cops and they all said the same thing which was “Do you play for the Lavender Cougars?” “Yes, why” Greg ask. “I thought you should know that you will lose to the Calgary Wargons.” Greg asked, “What makes you think that?” The cop replied, “Well son you and your team don’t stand a chance with them being undefeated with the records of 86 wins, 0 loses, 0 ties, and 0 overtime games.”  “Wow thanks for telling me their records ever though I already knew that.”

Just as Greg was leaving the last cop and pulling into the parking lot he saw an EMS there at the stadium. He thought that his coach was injured but in fact the stadium was broken into by the head coach of the other team. With the head coach doing that it threw his players off and it also threw us off. Even the cops were surprised to find out that the coach of the Wargons had damaged the locker room where his team was staying at they let him go for the game tonight. Our head coach Aortas became furious that he said, “My team will crush the fuck out of your team and that’s a promise that I’m going to keep today.”

Five hours later Greg and his team are getting suited up in their equipment and stating to think of what their jobs are to do when their on the ice tonight. Greg gave a motivation speech to get the team ready to kick some Wargons asses for the next 20 minutes of action for three periods. The first goal was made by George in the first with 12:50 left on the clock on the Lavender Cougars, and  shortly after James on the Calgary Wargons scored 2 goals in the first at 11.20 and then at 50.09 left in the first. The second period went by and no scores were made. We came to the third period and Greg scored a goal within the first 20 seconds on the puck being dropped to start the period.

The referee was about to drop the puck and the lights went out… While the lights were out a player on the Lavender Cougars got hit in the face with a stick. He had blood running down his face.

When the lights came on we saw that there was blood covering his eye and we had the paramedics take a look at it and they said, “He should be fine but we need to stitch him up just to be safe.” Our coach said, “Ok that will be fine even though he not playing the rest of the game.” So the ref decided that the game would continue. We lined up in our position and the ref dropped the puck the Lavender’s ended up scoring with only 1.2 seconds left and everyone was shocked even the team was shocked because they had pulled up in the lead by one point and that was all that they needed to win the game and they did win the game.
