Won’t Let You Pull Me Down

It’s time for me to go,

Though I should’ve left long ago.

You started to get strange,

And I saw the change.

Stop using me as a tool,

But I’m no longer the fool.

Think a kiss will save you this time?

Sorry, but it doesn’t cover the crime.

No good buying me things.

I’m tired of you pulling the strings

Of all of me.

I need to get free,

From you pulling me down.

We met in a small town,

But outside there’s room to spare,

And I’ll find my true love there.

Don’t cry on your knees

Begging “Baby, baby please,”

You’ve done this to yourself,

Its time for myself

To take control

And take back my soul,

My life and heart.

I’m not being mean, I’m being smart.

I am tired of the hitting,

And tired of quitting.

Going out the door,

For us, it’s no more.

I won’t let you pull me down

I’ll never see you around.
