I know what's outside,
I know what's in store,
but my master told me,
"Don't go through this door."

Master is my guardian,
Master is my savior,
"Why obey?"
Asks my Rebel.

"Because Master says,"
I reply.
"Master knows what's best."
"Why?" Rebel asks again.

Master walks through the door,
Rebel dissappears.
"Stop talking to yourself."
Master commands.

I do not say a word,
for it's disrespectful.
Master knows what's best,
Master knows what's best...

Master goes outside,
Rebel appears once more,
"When you hear the car,
why don't you run?"

"I don't know what to find."
"What to find?"
Rebel stands and smirks.
"There's rivers, trees, and oceans."

Says Rebel.
"I know."
"Then why hide?"
"I don't know..."

Rebel chortles,
Rebel's my only friend,
"Why obey Master?"
"Why not obey?"

Rebel down right laughs,
"There's a world he's hiding,
there's a world you should see,
if only you knew the half of it."

I yearn to know what he means,
I yearn to know what he sees,
so I flee through the front door,
the door Master leaves.

Master's car is gone,
I am finally free.
I stand in the grass,
feel the fresh breeze.

Rebel appears again,
"See what I mean?"
I nod, and stand.
Shocked, and scared.

"Do what you please."
Rebel dissappears,
I run across a street.
"Isn't this fun?"

Rebel's in a tree.
"Yes!" I reply enthusiastically.
"There's much more to see."
I go to a creek,

I feel the water
on my feet,
Rebel comes out again,
and I feel brave.

"Where did you come from?"
I ask Rebel.
"I'm in your head,
waiting for you to awake,

you little, sleepy head."
"But I am awake."
So I said.
"No, the parts that are sleeping."

I am awake...
"When Master is around,
you seem fully trained,
not one person should be
that way."

"Why not?" I ask.
"People should be free,
people need to speak."
Rebel smirked.

"So I created you?"
"Yes, but you don't need me."
"Why?" I ask frantically.
"My job is done."

Rebel dissappeared.
I am alone,
but a lesson is taught.
I will not be controlled.

That's my only thought.
