While driving down the winding backroads, the night captured me with its stillness. My eyes seeing only what was ahead of me. Cars passing with bright lights, as I shift my vision towards the side of the road. I notice the moon light and how it shined through the trees, passing shadows within the darkness all around. You can see the clouds above slowly shift across the dark sky, crossing the path of the moon. My thoughts begin to ponder my loneliness. How I long to enjoy your company once again. Thinking back on how we would laugh together, talk about anything, and tell each other our secrets. Only to realize I will never have this contentment back again. Knowing the hurt you have caused and the pain I have suffered gives me this broken heart. The love I once knew because of you, only to find out, it was but of deception. Listening to the words you spoke, and how they cheered my days. Looking forward to waking up in the morning knowing you would be there for me, no matter what the outcome of my decisions.

I go from day to day acting as if everything is alright, when it's really not. Within myself there is this disappointentment unexplained. My heart broken but its wall still standing, ready to be built stronger. Only to allow the pieces to be put back slowly,

While driving down the winding backroads, the night captured me with it's stillness. While the moon shined the path through the darkness, my thoughts drift back to my broken heart. Then there came the lonelines I was feeling tonight.
