A short piece about sadness and grief.

Its not the war that weakens me; its the aftermath that has chosen not to leave me.

 I drag my feet on this broken ground,

And wait for this heart to make a new sound.

Blisters on the skin are healing away,

but I know,

the unseen cuts are here to stay.

Its not the war...

The past  still lingers, still haunts,

Traces of blood havent completely gone;

Bruised memories remind me of the ledge I stumbled upon.

Its not the war....

Someday I'll lose my senses; the bleeding will no longer hurt...

Intoxicated by this pain, eventually, I'll shut.

Its not the war that weakens me; its the aftermath that has chosen not to leave me.

The Forgiven

Just too good...
I want to say..."Read my writings too when you get the time"...but I wont...as they are nowhere as good as yours...so I would rather say..."Keep it up"!!!
