There is no moon tonight.

Only stars hidden by the city lights

Children cry about their broken bones,

Deep within them are empty souls.

And they all cry,

For what nobody knows.

The angels weep with them

Soaking the sawdust beneath their feet.

Everything used to be so pretty,

Or so it seemed.

As the children grew

The breaks never completely healed,

They would have been beautiful fruit,

Too bad they were too quickly peeled

Their flesh ripped from their bones,

In silence you can hear their moans.

Salt is thrown from every hand

To soak the wounds,

From each others pain they fed.

In misery they hit the ground

And make the sawdust red.

We all grew up too soon,

Now innocence is officially dead.

Interesting, dark but its a good poem. Do you mind reading my new story 'Carols life'? I would really appreciate it. By the way, your poem is really deep.

This is very good. The picture is creepy. There is a lot to think about in this piece.
