Sitting on hard, unfeeling concrete stairs

mascara trails of tears fall down my face

I'm kicking, screaming, fighting with all my strength

to gain some footing and be granted grace.

I know it's just 21 days, three weeks

but my thoughts are clouded by a huanting grief

I feel like without you to talk to

My smile was stolen by the cruelest thief.

Stale cigarette smoke curls

around my fingers and hair.

I hope that those oblivous around me

can feel my heaviness in the air.

But every drop that falls

from hazel green eyes day and night

is worth it to me because it's all for you

and when you're back this will all again turn to light.
