This was written after the first guy I loved broke up with me(cliche, I know) It was also for my English class, and we were supposed to write it in the style of ee cummings, which explains the line breaks and odd styling. And the broken style pretty well represents my broken feelings. God,that sounds so emo, I'm sorry. I hope you like it.

Wrapped in youth-

ful naivety

and coddled by

false

hope,

I slept

comfortably in the arms of sweet ignorance.

Reality seemed set

on se-

tting me

straight. Startling consciousness

ripped me fro-

m naivety

and threw me

tumbling

Into a freezing ravine

Of trughts that were alrea-

dy there

But I'd chosen to ignore.

As my hazel eyes

Brim with bitter saline

and tear-

s sting my tender cheeks,

My eyes turn

stunning emerald

and I'm gasping for breath.

Any semb-

lance of protection

Was taken with

him, when he drove away.

Memories drip do-

wn my face

in eyelin-

er trails

and my vulner-

ability

is worse than nakedness.
