Number of Vengeance

Sally killed the cat;

She threw it away.

In the swamp it went,

So the muddy waters could keep it at bay.

The body rotted;

It began to stink.

It putrefied deeper,

To the bottom it would soon sink.

But cats have nine lives,

And this cat spent eight.

So life anew it grew

And made Sally a target of hate.

It pulled itself out of the swamp,

From the muddy depths it rose,

To take vengeance in a great way,

Against the master it so loathes.

It made its way to the house,

Quickly climbed up the window,

And jumped discreetly in,

To hide in the shadows.

The cat jumped up;

It landed in the bed.

Using its razor claws,

She tore into Sally’s head.
