Command of shadows,
forbids, morbids,
the myriad faces,
in mirror are one.

He turns on the light,
one more such night,
when alone in the cottage,
a flickering lamp burns.

The howls outside were splinters to soul,
the screams within were taking their toll.
And then his shadow fell on me,
and that's the time I felt remorse,
and then behind him I could see,
his past, my love juxtaposed.
