Out in the streets, night is dull, dark and mean,
and while the houses of the street are asleep,
a young boy weeps,
out in the streets.

The morning comes and brights
the day of all and one but his,
he holds on to the memories of night,
remembers his plight,
out in the streets.

his clothes, nothing but rags,
his eyes, blazed by a dream,
he turns the clock his way,
days to nights, nights to day,
when no more he wants to say,
out in the streets.

Death waiting to be invited,
stands by his side in a world upturned,
he smiles and takes the hand,
and on a moonlit regular night,
another unclaimed body was burned,
out in the streets.
