With the taste of scotch on my breath

I realize that peoples constant analyzing

of every possible scenario

of why things come to be is futile

For every explanation we have

there is always a lost variable

Nothing is ever as it may appear

underlying thoughts and questions

We will never receive a definite answer that all of us ache to hear

so that some of the riddles

in our minds come into existence

for us to visually witness

So many questions we all have

to the point that the question mark

leaves pummeled bodies behind it

as it looks for the next victim

But the next victim chooses the period instead

Realizing that question mark is far too obscure

reaching for the moon is impossible and before you

know it you'll have missed every star that passes you by
