She pushed and made a hole through the crowd.

It wasn't where she wanted to be.

There wasn't anyone she knew.

All the heads would turn in unity.

She shuddered at the door.

She shuddered behind the key.

She watched the smoke rise from candles.

The difference when you're alone.

But the past was a nightmare of guilt.

And the past was a nightmare of shame.

What she really wanted to be was so much more

Than they ever gave her credit for.

It wasn't that she didn't care.

Her focus was otherwise distracted, confused.

Otherwise confused.

And now she's standing alone.

And now she's standing in silence.

Mimicking the echos of her past.
