I pray to the God,

the God of the Christians,

the God of the Jews,

the God of the Muslims,

the Hindus,

the Sikhs.

I pray to the God worshipped by many,

like Jesus Christ,

and the God worshipped by few,

like Easter,

too often forgotten,

and too little remembered.

I pray to the compassionate God,

the angry God,

the infinite God,

the finite God,

I pray to the immortal God,

and the mortal God.

At least I try.

My lips move,

but my heart doesn't believe,

I am owned,

by no one,

I am bound,

by nothing.

So instead I pray to love.
