I heard a sound

It was a very loud sound

It started and never stopped

I hear it in my head

Covering it with a cushion, no that won’t work

I feel it in my face

The sound makes my face not exist

I can’t feel it and don’t know where it went

Only a warm numbness is the feeling in my face

‘Feeling a sound can’t be’ you say?

Then how come I’m feeling this way.

I hear it in my hand, I feel it there too

My hand is shaking and sweating, quivering in fear

Because of the sound that I hear.

‘That’s all the sounds fault’ I say

A sound that fills my ears to the brim

Letting my eardrums rattle in a fit

What is this sound?

That’s what I need to admit

Maybe it’s too loud

Maybe she might hear

The sound that fills my head

The sound that melts my face

The sound that makes my hands quiver and shake

The sound that rattles my ear

And this is all because, you are near.
