Inspired by Yugioh. Using the characters, but you don't have to watch Yugioh to read this. I'm sorry, fanfiction haters, but I love the series. I can really identify with Yugi's pain in this story. He speaks to me.

Yugi lay on his bed. He could hear his former friends downstairs, laughing about something. Yugi couldn't tell what it was, but it sounded stupid. He sighed and raked his fingers through his spiky hair. What had happened to his life? Everything seemed so false. He'd had friends a few months ago. Until Atem had returned. Atem was his Yami (his darker half); the better Yugi. At least, Yugi knew, that's what everyone thought. He got up and crept across the landing to the bathroom. He looked at his reflection in the mirror. His soft, milky white skin was now so deadly pale it was almost see-through, and the dark shadows outlining his eyes made his face look like a skeleton's. And those eyes. What were once beautiful amethyst orbs of innocence and purity, and most of all happiness, were now cold, blank eyes, which permanently held tears at their base. He got out his pad and pencil, and sat on the floor of the bathroom, drawing. He had always been a good sketcher. He drew a pure white horse being clawed by a pure black raven. Next, he wrote a little note.

'To those who hurt me,

Scars heal. Wounds to the heart take longer. How can they even begin to with you sprinkling salt on them? You had been such great friends, so I'll choose to remember how you used to be. But now I'm leaving this world. To heaven, to hell, or just to an infinity of blackness, I don't know. What I do know is I won't be coming back again. And to you Atem, I say this. Look after my friends. Because if you don't, I will never forgive you.

Yugi

Xxxx'

Yugi reached in his pocket. He brought out the razor.

"Goodbye my friends."
