Yay ^_^

Those lights we hang up on the wall,

And draped on Chrismas trees,

Where on earth did they get their name?

I will explain, your attention please.

~#~#~#~

Once did a pixie with small graceful wings,

Sit on a willow branch and sing.

All of the animals came there to hear,

And even the bluebells did ring.

~#~#~#~

But one night that pixie was singing her song,

And a match was flicked alight.

Two boys came up and they burned her wings,

And ran away laughing into the night.

~#~#~#~

As this small pixie was sitting ablaze,

Her wings started to glow,

As they did, she started to sing,

The last song that she'd even have known.

~#~#~#~

The birds in the trees, and the foxes and bees,

Took pity on the pixie alight,

So they carried her over the woods,

Into a cave all covered in light.

~#~#~#~

That pixie was told that through all of the pain,

The light of her wings would be shared,

And to this day, the lights we hang up,

Pixie magic they bare.
