The secrets they hide in each lesson we're told,

Build dreams that will only get shattered when old,

But this is no crime! I understand well,

But we're telling our kids to just be a shell.

~

Be a good little child, been seen and not heard,

Nobody cares what you like or prefer,

Put on a smile, and no one will see,

They won't see that you're hurting, even though you may be.

~

Dreams are lies, but wrapped inside some kind of truth,

And I guess that's just the perks of youth,

But these children will grow up quiet and cold,

For they're just doing what they're told.
