He sat with his head against the cold brick wall behind him, staring up into the night sky.

What was sadness to the happy?

What was darkness to the light?

He had nothing better to do than ask himself these questions every night before sleep eventually took it's peaceful hold on his mind.

His hand moved, making the plastic bag by his side rustle slightly.

He sighed and pulled out a small bottle, taking a long drink before throwing it at a passing pedestrian. They hurried off, looking startled.

He chuckled quietly, the noise echoing through the alleyway. He glanced through the metal fence, the wide bars showing the rest of the city at night. So peaceful, so serine.

So fake.

He had once known the perfect life they had. Until he had been kicked out to 'make a living'.

He was on the streets in less than a year.

He coughed slightly on the smoke that was drifting from some guy's cigarette nearby. He looked like he had nothing left to loose either.

And maybe it was the drink, but for once, he could see clearly.

He wasn't ok.

No one was ok.

He needed help.

And no one would ever give it to him.
