She practically runs

out of the tiny apartment that

she and her sisters tend to call home.

She wonders,

Is calling them sisters justified

just because they live under the same roof,

or is it as pointless as calling that homeless little

boy, who she passes everyday,

her brother?

She looks to her parents,

Who always seem to conceal

some sort of an answer,

those two adults that in her world have earned

the title of mom and dad.

Her other parents,

if she had the chance would she

look into their eyes, the only part of them

reflected in her, and call them

mom and dad?

No, she would turn to face

those two adults,

look into their eyes, which bare

no resemblance, and tell them

how she loves having a place

that she can call home.
