We were driving through Iowa on a church trip and I just had to write a poem about it. The land was so pretty and it started storming about a half an hour after writing this poem, so the dark sky contrasting to the green fields was just beautiful! Not my best work ever, but please comment!

Rolling Hills

I sit here watching fields pass by
The rolling hills and darkening sky

It makes me grab my paper and pen
It’s the loveliest place I’ve ever been

I’ll write a poem about sky and hill
The gentile beauty one cannot kill

Yet no mere words can pen so true
The sweeping fields and sky so blue

Over the hilltops I travel so far
Coming through beauty to be where you are
