"Beyond Paradise"

Poem by: Lady Delyriah

Summary

Built in the darker times of my life, "Beyond Paradise" melds an escape to fantasy as a haven with a critical 2nd person point of view of society as a whole due to its lack of sympathy.

"Beyond Paradise"

Where are you, child of mine?
Where art thou, mistress divine?
Have you run off to lands of past?
Fearful of the faceless, the lack of class...

Have they torn your wings asunder, butterfly?
Have forgotten webs trapped you in their guise,
And darkened your dawning skies?

Sing to me, Delyriah, sing to me from Beyond Paradise...
Teach me a new masterpiece, a faithful reprise...
"Hello... " she pleads, "Whisper to the within"
"...Silence my soul into a dream living in a dream"
"For these hollow eyes scorch these hallowed limbs"
"And they mutter endlessly, naught a voice in their pitch"

Are we forlorn then, phantom sublime?
But how can we be, when hearts bleed in rhyme?
Though a lie spoken a thousand times...
Soon is reborn a paradigm

Yet forget me not, Butterfly...
Sing forever your flaring cries!
Color the winds, entwine with sands of Time
We will dance against our swift demise...
And echo in the stars, horrifically amaranthine,
Speaking but legends of truth benign.
