Tick tock tick tock

the decision comes and goes

the cries wax and wane

the love fills and falls away

the pain grows and fades

the exhuberance was never there

the pleas were false

the cries were weak

the love was empty

the work left undone

the dead already dying

the rest are gone

no more trying
